yourself series: The Viktor Frankl's journey to life
As you may
have read in our last meeting, storytelling and fiction reading can help us get
a different understanding of the world. We emphasize the story and the
protagonist and can get a newborn perspective of what surrounds us.
We begin
with "Man Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl. The author was a
neurologist and psychiatrist with a doctorate in philosophy. He worked with
recognized psychologists Sigmund Freud and Alfred Adler before establishing
Logotherapy, which stands for therapy of meaning. He suffered the actions of
the Nazi regime, deported to a concentration camp in 1942. This book covers his
journey through four different places, where he lost his wife, parents, and
brother and how he survived looking for meaning.
